Kindle wireless reading device has been the number 1 best-selling product on Amazon for over 3 years. In other words, the Kindle ereader pretty much rules the US market. There are four different models of Kindle ebook reader: Kindle Fire, Kindle Touch, Kindle 4 and Kindle Keyboard.

In addition to the existing Kindle Keyboard model, Amazon launched 3 new models of Kindle ereaders in September 2011 for USA market: Kindle Fire, Kindle Touch and new Kindle 4. New Kindle 4 ereader and Kindle Touch ereader still have e-ink display that is easy on the eyes even in bright sunshine, while the Kindle Fire comes will full color backlight display. E-ink display looks like real paper even in bright sunlight so you can use your Kindle ereader for reading your favorite books on the beach or in the car. This is 4th generation of Kindle ereaders - Kindle ereaders are now smaller, lighter, and faster than previous generation of Kindle ebook reader. Physical keyboard disappears on new models of Kindle ereaders to make them more compact and more mobile to take them everywhere.

Kindle Keyboard is older generation of Kindle ereaders but it is still available on market. It is 3rd generation of Kindle ereader - it comes with physical keyboard. There are two different versions of this model: Kindle Keyboard and Kindle DX. Kindle Keyboard comes with  6-inches display and Kindle DX comes with  9.7-inches display. Kindle Keyboard ereaders are available in two colors: graphite or white.

Sony ereader was one of the first electronic reading device on the market, and have recently been losing market share to both Kindle ereader (from Amazon) and Nook ereader (from Barnes and Noble).
Sony Touch PR600 ereader features a full touch screen that reads like a real book.
The front of Sony Touch is dominated by the 6 inch touch-screen with five buttons under the display. From left to right you will find the following buttons: back arrow, forward arrow, home button, size button, and options button. On bottom side are located the lanyard opening, reset button, power port, miniUSB port, 3.5mm headset jack and volume toggle. The back is covered in soft touch material so you can grip and hold onto your Sony ereader. Two memory cards slots (Memory Stick Duo and Secure Digital) are located along the top with the power slider.

Other features of Sony Touch include a basic MP3 player - songs can be played in the background as you read, using headphones (unlike the Kindle reading device, the Sony Touch reader does not have a built-in speaker).

All ereaders including the Sony Touch, use e-ink display technology. This display technology only requires power from the battery when turning pages. Once a page has loaded, the display is basically switched off. Therefore, you get no more eyestrain from reading text on an e-ink display than you get from reading a physical print book. This means that you can realistically go for days and days without ever charging the Sony Touch’s battery.

One thing that I do not like on Sony Touch ebook reader is that it does not have built in wireless connection. That means that it requires a computer to download and transfer your electronic books and other content to it.
