DAY 4
by LF - 23:21 on 15 July 2014
After a bit of a showery day yesterday, today was sunny and dry bringing a steady stream of visitors to the site. With a greater number of volunteers on site, including a number of enthusiastic youngsters, good progress has been made. Walls are appearing to the north of Thief's Row, whilst to the south layers are being systematically removed to get down to the medieval horizon. There have been some interesting finds from both sides of the road, including a beautifully carved bone knife handle, ceramic spindle whorls, a large fish hook and, unusually, some seal teeth.
